Create a Campaign Manually

Creating a campaign manually gives you complete control over your campaign's design, content, behavior, and targeting. Unlike the AI Campaign Builder, the manual editor allows you to build your campaign from scratch or customize a template to match your marketing goals.
This guide explains how to create and publish a campaign manually in Tango.ad.
Before You Begin
Before creating a campaign, make sure you have:
- A Tango.ad workspace.
- At least one configured domain.
- The Tango.ad tracking script installed on your website.
- A clear campaign objective (such as promoting a product or collecting email addresses).
Step 1: Open the Campaigns Page
- Sign in to Tango.ad.
- Select your workspace.
- Navigate to Campaigns from the left navigation menu.
Step 2: Create a New Campaign
- Click New Campaign.
- Select the option to Create Manually (or choose to start from a blank campaign if available).
- Continue to the campaign setup.
Step 3: Enter Campaign Details
Complete the required information:
- Campaign Name – Enter a descriptive name.
- Domain – Select the website where the campaign will appear.
- Campaign Type – Choose the type of campaign you want to create.
Examples of campaign types include:
- Email Acquisition
- Exit Intent
- Popup
- Banner
- Sticker
- Product Promotion
Click Create or Continue to open the editor.
Step 4: Design Your Campaign
The Campaign Editor allows you to customize every part of your campaign.
You can add and edit components such as:
- Text
- Images
- Buttons
- Email Input
- Coupon Code
- Countdown Timer
- Close Button
- Shapes and Containers
Arrange elements using the drag-and-drop editor until your campaign matches your desired design.
Step 5: Customize the Design
Use the Design Editor to build and customize your campaign. You can drag content blocks from the left panel onto the canvas and arrange them to create your desired layout.
Available content blocks include:
- Image – Add images to your campaign.
- Form Field – Add a form field for collecting information.
- Email Input – Add an email input field.
- Counter – Add a countdown or counter.
- Text – Add and format text content.
- Close Button – Allow visitors to close the campaign.
- Button – Add a clickable button.
- Dismiss – Add a dismiss option.
- Coupon Code – Display a coupon code.
- Spacer – Add space between elements.
- HTML – Add custom HTML content.
You can also use Design with AI to help create your campaign design. The Advanced mode toggle provides additional editing options.

Step 6: Configure Display Rules
Decide when and where the campaign should appear.
Common display options include:
- After a time delay
- Exit Intent
- Scroll percentage
- Specific pages
- Returning visitors
- After viewing multiple pages
Display rules help ensure your campaign appears at the right moment.
Step 7: Preview Your Campaign
Before publishing:

Click Preview.
Review the campaign on:
- Desktop
- Mobile
- Verify that all buttons, images, and links work correctly.
Make any necessary adjustments before publishing.
Step 8: Publish Your Campaign
Once your campaign is ready:
- Click Publish.
- Activate the campaign.
- Visit your website to confirm the campaign appears as expected.
Your campaign is now live and ready for visitors.
