AI Dashboards: Traits Mapping

The Traits Mapping page allows you to define how Tango.ad interprets customer events and attributes for AI-powered personalization. By mapping events, search terms, and success pages, you help the AI understand visitor behavior and build more accurate customer profiles.
For an overview of the available AI configuration modules, see AI Dashboards Overview.
To access Traits Mapping:
- Go to AI Dashboards.
- Click Configure on the Traits Mapping card.
Events Mapping
The Events Mapping section allows you to map incoming tracking events and their properties to AI-readable customer traits.
You can either:
- Use a predefined mapping template, or
- Create a custom mapping by editing the JSON configuration.
The mapping determines how event fields such as customer information, product identifiers, consent, and custom parameters are interpreted by the AI.
Typical mapped fields include:
- Customer ID
- Customer Type
- Email address
- Event source
- Consent status
- Product ID
- Custom parameters
- Event method
After making changes, click Save to apply the updated configuration.
For more information about how AI uses visitor actions and engagement data, see AI Dashboards: Advanced AI Settings.
Search Query
The Search Query section defines which URL parameters or event fields should be treated as visitor search terms.
When visitors perform searches on your website, Tango.ad can use these values to better understand customer interests and improve personalization.
Examples of commonly mapped search parameters include:
searchquerykeywordtermtextsearch_termlookupproduct_search
You can add or remove parameter names depending on how your website records search queries.
Click Save after updating the list.
For additional information about understanding visitor interests, see Analytics: Interests.
Success Pages
The Success Pages section specifies which pages indicate that a visitor has successfully completed an important action, such as placing an order.
These pages are used by Tango.ad to recognize successful conversions and improve reporting and AI learning.
For example, you might define a page such as:
checkout_success
You can add multiple success page identifiers if your website uses different URLs for completed purchases or conversions.
After making changes, click Save to update the configuration.
For more information about measuring conversions and campaign performance, see Analytics Overview.
