Assign Coupons

The Assign Coupons feature allows you to connect a coupon pool to a campaign. When a visitor qualifies for the campaign, Tango.ad can assign an available coupon from the selected pool.

Coupon pools are useful for distributing unique discount codes, promotional offers, or limited-use coupons without manually assigning individual codes.

Before You Begin

Before assigning coupons to a campaign, make sure you have a coupon pool with available coupons.

A coupon pool can contain:

  • Active Coupons — Unassigned coupons that are available for distribution.
  • Assigned History — Coupons that have already been distributed.
  • Pool Expiration — The date when a coupon expires at the pool level.
  • User Expiration — The amount of time a coupon remains valid for an individual user.

You can manage your coupon pools from Coupons → Coupon Management.

Assign a Coupon Pool

To assign a coupon pool to a campaign:

  1. Open the campaign you want to edit.
  2. Go to the campaign's Coupons or coupon assignment settings.
  3. Select the coupon pool you want to use.
  4. Save the campaign.

Once the pool is assigned, available coupons from that pool can be distributed to visitors who qualify for the campaign.

Manage Coupons in a Pool

You can manage the coupons available in a pool from the pool details page.

To open a coupon pool:

  1. Go to CouponsCoupon Management.
  2. Find the coupon pool you want to manage.

Monitor Coupon Availability

Monitor the Active and Assigned counts of your coupon pool to make sure enough coupons are available for your campaign.

The pool page also provides an alert setting for low coupon availability. Alerts can trigger when the pool is expected to become empty within seven days based on its usage rate or when no coupons remain.

You can select Set threshold to configure the alert threshold.

You can change the coupon pool used by a campaign when needed.

  1. Open the campaign.

The newly selected pool will be used for future coupon assignments.

Best Practices

  • Use a coupon pool with enough Active Coupons for your expected campaign traffic.
  • Monitor the Active and Assigned counts regularly.
  • Configure low-stock alerts to help prevent a pool from running out of coupons.
  • Review Assigned History when you need to check previously distributed coupons.
  • Set appropriate pool and user expiration periods for your promotion.
  • Test the campaign before making it live to confirm that coupon assignment works as expected.
