Tracking Integration Guide

This guide explains how to set up visitor engagement tracking for your website using Incomate. Following these steps ensures your platform collects real-time event and ecommerce data efficiently.

1. Overview

Incomate requires a tracking snippet to be installed on your website to monitor visitor interactions and engagement. Once installed, you can optionally connect your event or ecommerce data platform, such as GA4, to enhance insights.

Key Notes:

Real-time engagement data is only available after installing the tracking snippet.
Integration issues may occur if the snippet is not placed correctly in the <head> section of your website.

2. Install Tracking Snippet

Steps:

Copy the following script:

Tips:

Ensure the script is loaded before any other scripts that rely on Incomate.
Verify your website allows external scripts to run (check Content Security Policy).

3. Connect Event or Ecommerce Data (Optional)

You can choose to link your event or ecommerce platform to Incomate to enrich analytics data. For example, GA4 events can be connected:

Select your platform from the dropdown (e.g., GA4 events).
Follow any additional instructions provided to complete integration.

Note: This step is optional but recommended for detailed analytics.

4. Troubleshooting

Common Issue: Connection Wasn't Successful

If you see the error:

"Connection wasn't successful. Please check that you've inserted our script into the header section of your page."

Solutions:

Confirm that the script is correctly placed within the <head> tag.
Check for caching issues: clear your website cache and reload.
Ensure there are no syntax errors or missing characters in the copied snippet.
Verify that external scripts are allowed and not blocked by browser extensions or firewall rules.
